Not many of us are aware of the fact #HygieneMatters and that the habit of #Handwashing with soap will provide safety measures against different diseases. In #Pakistan according to one study in 2013, almost 53,000 children under five lose their lives in fight against diarrhea. Diarrhea is directly linked to bad water and poor quality of sanitation and hygiene.
These precious lives can be saved by acquiring habits that will safeguard the well-being of our children and the generations to come. Handwashing with soup should be part of our daily routine yet we always neglect it. We as an adult have better immune system than that of children and they are always in danger of infectious diseases. This is a considerable and a significant issue of global crisis.
However, diarrhea is preventable, and good hygiene practices such as cleaning and washing hands with soap especially after using toilet, before cooking and eating food and feeding children. This will significantly lower the chances of infections we face at homes and improving the health of family.
We at IRSP implore general public to join hands and fight against this global menace that is affecting our minors and get rid of poor sanitary practices and adopting safe hygienic habits i.e. “Make Handwashing a Habit” to secure a healthy lifestyle for our families and reduce the number of spending on an infectious disease that is easily preventable.
