PESHAWAR, December 13: Integrated Regional Support Programme (IRSP), a Pakistani non-governmental organisation working for healthcare and provision of clean drinking water, has secured second position in the sanitation competition among the Asia-Pacific countries. IRSP official in Mardan Mr Saifullah told Tribal News Network that 167 organisations had sent their names for the ‘Star Impact Award’ from the Asia-Pacific countries. An Indian organisation took first position in the competition, while the IRSP from Pakistan stood second in the competition. The prize distribution ceremony of the competition was held in London today, where former US President Mr Bill Clinton presented the prize of Rs5 million to Executive Director of the IRSP Mr Shah Nasir. Mr Saifullah said the NGO would continue its good work in future as well. “I will like to request all the organisations working for provision of clean drinking water, healthcare and education to continue their efforts as the IRSP cannot resolve all these problems alone,” he said. http://radiotnn.com/?p=8982
