Context
The Social Action Bureau for Assistance in Welfare and Organisation Networking (SABAWON) wishes to promote an inclusive and empowered society in its project districts for poverty alleviation and the benefiting populations which are out of reach of mainstream services and resources and excluded from policy making processes.
Objectives
To restore and strengthen resilience of communities through social mobilization and community empowerment enabling them.
Expected Results
- Strengthening a three tiered community mobilisation system for greater
social and economic development at the Community, Village and Union
Council level by establishing 600 Community Organizations (COs), 64 Village
Organisations (VOs)and 4 Local Support Organizations (LSOs). - Implementing 32 infrastructure construction/rehabilitation projects in 4
Union Councils of Kachi Shahani, Gadola, Siyaal, Dhandla in District Bhakkar of the province of Punjab, Pakistan using a Community/Local Government consultation process - Improving basic social service delivery, taking into account disaster risk
reduction principles by providing 48 Community Skills Trainings for 1200
community leaders. - Building the capacities of local administration staff at Union Council and
Tehsil (Administrative District).
